Big Ideas:
Change: All things change and can adapt to change. Many birds adapt to the changing weather by flying south before winter hits in the Northern Hemisphere. Some birds that stay through the winter change or make changes to prepare for the cold weather.
Interdependence: We rely on each other and other living and nonliving things to meet our needs. Birds that fly long distances (migrate) depend on food, water, and shelter along the way to survive. Most birds migrate in groups. They rely on each other to help obtain food, defend themselves and deal with changes.
For PreK-2nd Grade: 1-2 Weeks
This is part of a larger unit: Falling into Fall with Winnie the Pooh
Includes: 5-6 activities, takes approx. 1-2 weeks to complete
