About Tina Salmanowitz

Tina

My name is Tina, and I am a passionate educator and mother. I hold a Bachelor’s of Arts in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on science education.

I started my career in education in 2007, teaching life science to middle school students. During my time as a public educator, I organized an outdoor learning experience for my students, taking them to Yellowstone National Park, which remains one of my favorite memories.

In 2020, I decided to resign from my position and spend more quality time with my two young daughters. I started homeschooling and discovered the benefits of outdoor learning, enrolling my oldest in a forest school and teaching a preschool science program there. This homeschool journey inspired me to start Little Monsters Universe, initially launched on Instagram to share my passion for education and science with other homeschooling families.

When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family and pursuing my personal interests. I enjoy traveling, snowboarding, and hiking, as well as trying new things with my family, like making maple syrup and butter, gardening, and growing our own food in a greenhouse. I have a passion for learning and always strive to foster that same love of learning in my children and students.
