About Little Monsters Universe
Little Monsters Universe is dedicated to nurturing lifelong learners through hands-on, interdisciplinary, and nature-inspired science-based homeschooling. Founded by Tina Salmanowitz, a veteran science teacher, LMU offers a wide range of educational resources. These include individual science units tailored for preK through 2nd grade, engaging mini-units, and comprehensive curricula.
Our teaching philosophy is rooted in wonder and adventure, fostering a love for science by allowing children to explore and discover naturally. In addition to our standard offerings, we provide custom units designed to meet individual needs and interests. We also offer virtual classes to accommodate various learning preferences, all while encouraging kids to explore the great outdoors.
Little Monsters Universe is science-rooted homeschooling for curious minds. Explore, create, and learn.
About Tina Salmanowitz
My name is Tina, and I am a passionate educator and mother. I hold a Bachelor’s of Arts in Early Childhood Education and a Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on science education.
I started my career in education in 2007, teaching life science to middle school students. During my time as a public educator, I organized an outdoor learning experience for my students, taking them to Yellowstone National Park, which remains one of my favorite memories.
In 2020, I decided to resign from my position and spend more quality time with my two young daughters. I started homeschooling and discovered the benefits of outdoor learning, enrolling my oldest in a forest school and teaching a preschool science program there. This homeschool journey inspired me to start Little Monsters Universe, initially launched on Instagram to share my passion for education and science with other homeschooling families.
When I am not teaching, I love spending time with my family and pursuing my personal interests. I enjoy traveling, snowboarding, and hiking, as well as trying new things with my family, like making maple syrup and butter, gardening, and growing our own food in a greenhouse. I have a passion for learning and always strive to foster that same love of learning in my children and students.
